I can’t tell you how many times I have said to a couple, “We should totally have your engagement session IN the water!” and they look at me like I’m a crazy person. But you guys, Regine was the one that suggested we take a swim, and there is no exaggeration when I say these images are INSANE.

We didn’t JUST do an engagement session in the water, we used the whole beach, obviously. Sombrero Beach is seriously underrated for photo sessions. It’s small, usually pretty quiet, and the views of the sunset and gorgeous. If we can make it work on a weeknight, there are hardly ever any people there. Plus, the water is super calm, which is perfect for sessions like these.

So often brides tell me that their fiance’s are really apprehensive to take photos. They hate having their photos taken, they are awkward, don’t like to smile, etc. Shannon was a little reluctant at first, but he had a great time! Just look at those smiles! I really pride myself on making engagement sessions FUN for everyone involved. It can be hard having your photo taken and it’s even more difficult to take photos that look natural. This is why it is SO important to have an engagement session with your wedding photographer before the big day.

I just love this black and white photo of Regine and Shannon!

Ok, now onto the images you’ve all been waiting for! The water images. You guys, these images are so important to me. I truly wish more couples would opt to go for a swim during their engagement sessions, ESPECIALLY down in the Keys. The water is never truly that cold, and the color really is this perfect all year round.
