When you think of famous people in Key West, my guess is Ernest Hemingway is at the top of your list (maybe after Jimmy Buffett…). Hemingway lived life out loud, that’s for sure, and Loren + Marty would have made him proud at their bold, colorful, full-of-life wedding at the Hemingway Home Museum.
Wedding at the Hemingway Home & Museum
“We would be together and have our books and at night be warm in bed together with the windows open and the stars bright.”
― Ernest Hemingway, A Moveable Feast
Loren and Marty started their morning at the Lighthouse Court – my favorite getting ready location in all of Key West! The light there is gorgeous, and they have a ton of photo-ready locations. If you’re getting married in Key West, I highly recommend checking them out. Especially if your having your wedding at the Hemingway Home; it’s right across the street!
The florals from Duarte Floral Design are straight out of my DREAMS.
First Look + Portraits
Now on to my favorite part of the day…the first time couples see each other before the wedding always melts me. Just look at those faces!!!
Ceremony and Reception
I am loving how bright colors are becoming a trend, especially in Key West, where the landscape really lends itself to brighter colors. Loren worked with Peggy at Destination Wedding Studio and the lovely people at Duarte to create an amazing tablescape.
Loren and Marty had a small ceremony and reception, with only their closest friends and family in attendance. It was so intimate and truly unforgettable.
Big Easy Send Off
As a surprise for their guests, Loren and Marty hired a band for a Second Line from the Hemingway Home to the Green Parrot, a bar down the street. It was a blast to walk through the streets of Key West with a live band leading the way.
Loren + Marty, thank you again for allowing me to photograph your wedding day! It was fun from beginning to end and I wish you both nothing but a lifetime of happiness together.
