Tropical Summer Wedding at Largo Resort

Jennifer and Steven’s summer wedding at Largo Resort was not just gorgeous, but so fun! This couple wanted their wedding to be focused on family and friends. The couple was both so excited to enjoy the weekend with their loved ones and celebrating together. Their venue, The Largo Resort, is one of my favorite in the Florida Keys.

As soon as you enter the resort, you feel like you are in Bali. It’s zen and relaxing and secluded. It is teeming with incredible greenery, and the sunsets the Keys are known for! Nestled in the heart of Key Largo, couples can rent the whole venue out and provide their guests not only with a place to stay but with a luxury weekend getaway!

This private resort has the most incredible amenities, from a large pool to 3.5 acres of the resort to explore. For their wedding, Jennifer and Stephen chose the Sands and Tiki at Zen Beach. This is the private beach at the Largo Resort, with gorgeous water views. The driftwood arch was the perfect backdrop for their intimate ceremony. It was covered in large palm leaves, king protea, and anthurium.

A Tropical Wedding at Largo Resort

Jennifer’s bouquet was one of the most incredible I have photographed! It was so tropical and fun, and a statement. Steven tied into the tropical vibes with a kaki suit lined in palm trees. The bride wore an incredible lace gown by Martina Liana. The sheer back with pearl buttons was incredible, and the large floral lace motif was perfect for this summer wedding.

One of my favorite parts of being a wedding photographer is learning the couple’s love story! Jennifer and Stephen’s paths were crossed in such a unique way. The two were living across the country from each other. Jennifer was in Michigan, and Stephen was in San Francisco. Then, as fate would have it, the two both arrived in Lake Tahoe at a friend’s home, having never met one another.

Jennifer popped into Stephen’s room at 2 AM, where he was grumpy and in pain after breaking his leg. Neither of them knew that by the end of the week, that they would be starting a long-distance friendship that would blossom into so much more. Within 6 months of dating, Jennifer was moving to Oakland to move in. 2 years later, the couple said I Do here in Key Largo!
