When it came to planning their wedding day, Tina and Steve wanted everything to be intentional. They wanted it to be intimate, meaningful, and a weekend of relaxation for their guests. So as they started looking at places for their destination wedding, Key West fit their vision! They both love adventure and the outdoors as a couple, so having a tropical wedding in the Keys was a perfect fit.
When picking their wedding venue, the couple wanted something tropical but filled with historical details. They live in an old 1920’s bungalow, and after recently visiting the Gaudi house in Barcelona, they fell in love with the Hemingway Home. It has a natural beauty, with incredible gardens.
One of the most important things to Tina was her wedding gown. She has always dreamed of her gown, and she was so excited to wear her romantic gown by Watters. It fit the design of the wedding day perfectly! The couple chose a tropical palette of bright pink, orange, and blue. Steve wore a soft blue suit with a custom orange pattern lining. His bright orange tie matched Tina’s lush bouquet. Her bouquet had pops of hot pink, soft apricot and oranges, and texture with some birds of paradise.
Intimate Wedding at The Hemingway Home
For their ceremony, the couple had a unique tradition that I loved! They wrote letters to one another and sealed them in a wine box to reopen and read later. This was such a beautiful idea since it would make the perfect thing to open on an anniversary and frame in their home!
When it came to their photography, this couple was all about getting portraits of the two of them. They hardly ever have their picture taken together, so it meant so much of them to have these lovely memories to look back on! As your wedding photographer, I make sure that our timeline has plenty of time for portraits of the two of you. From pictures after your first look or ceremony to sneaking you two away after dinner for sunset portraits, I make sure that every little moment is captured. When Tina and Steve wanted to hoverboard down a back alley, I got so excited! It was the perfect little getaway after the ceremony and really captured the two having so much fun together. If you are planning your destination wedding in the Florida Keys, I would love to capture your magic! I love to be your collaborative partner, creating the best experience for your wedding day.
